Singapore (13 December 2021) - Eastspring Investments (“Eastspring”), the USD 254 billion asset management business of Prudential plc, announced today the appointment of Stuart Wilson to the newly created position of Head of Sustainability. Subject to regulatory approvals, Stuart will commence his role on 10 January 2022 and will report directly to Wai-Kwong Seck, Chief Executive Officer, Eastspring Investments Group.
In recent years, Eastspring Investments has made strong progress in implementing ESG considerations. Building on the progress, Stuart will lead and accelerate the firm’s responsible investment efforts across the business and make sustainability a key part of the culture. He will be responsible for the Sustainability team and will work closely with the investment teams and regional functional leads to further integrate ESG considerations into investment processes and develop new and innovative sustainability-themed products and solutions to meet client demands for responsible investment portfolios.
Responsible investing is at the core of Eastspring’s business and the firm has been a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment since 2018. 82% of Eastspring’s SICAV range of funds (as of 10 December 2021) are classified as Article 8 funds under the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), awarded to financial products that promote environmental and/or social characteristics. Additionally, Eastspring’s SICAV funds are ready to comply with the new SFDR Level 2 disclosure (based on the Final Report on draft Regulatory Technical Standards dated 22 October 2021) that comes into effect in January 2023.

Stuart joins Eastspring from Sunsuper, the largest superannuation fund by membership in Queensland, Australia, where he was the Head of Responsible Investing. He has a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a CFA Charter Holder.
